Brief description of the project

We developed and grounded mathematical models and methods of total evaluation of effectiveness of end-to-end technologies of ball pin production as well as that of functioning of enterprise quality management system.


We developed as well the method of total evaluation of acceptability of technological processes of motor-vehicle components production, which is based on antonym logic, takes into consideration composition, stability, reproductivity and interconnection of technological process operations and allows to make comparative analyses of technologies variants offered on the basis of impartial characteristics.


Another development is a new method of surface plastic deformation of incomplete globe heads of ball pins -  planet-rotary run-in, which allows to increase surface finish quality at the cost of increasing processing patio of equatorial zone. Application of such a method will make it possible to raise products quality and to cut processing time.


Still another development is the modified multistage stamping of ball and socket joints cases for VAZ cars in progressive dies, which is distinguished as compared to the known technology by increased material economy and minor number of form-generating stages of stamping providing for the required accuracy of geometrical sized of stamped products.


We also developed a versatile method of quality control of performs of ball and pin joints with the help of eddy currents. This method of control allows to approve quality of products, manufactured by cold die forging and also to disclose defects (cracks) of non-metal inclusions as well as non-uniformity of stress distribution in metal surface layers and besides to approve quality of products heat processing.


Besides, our experts developed a test bed and accompanying methods, allowing to define rule of change of technical condition of ball-and-pin joints for assembled front suspension of VAZ cars subject to operating time. This makes it possible to objectively approve and to cut service costs of upper ball-and-pin joints of the front suspension 2101-2904192-03 and besides to raise the trucking safety.
